De Scherpenhof Leisure Park is a very complete leisure park, just a stone’s throw from the quiet little village of Terwolde. The park is beautifully situated on the banks of the IJssel and is on the edge of the Veluwe.

Facilities at De Scherpenhof:

• Water sports, swimming, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing and pleasure cruising. You can also pick out a nice spot to do a bit of relaxed fishing.
• Professional bowling centre.
• Two synthetic outdoor tennis courts next to the natural swimming pool and the playing field.
• Night club.
• All kinds of possibilities for recreational activities, from volley ball and football to hiking and cycling.
• A range of culinary options.

Time for leisure
Training to be a pilot is hard work, but there is also enough time for leisure. The atmosphere at the school is easy-going and intimate. Many of the students live at a bungalow park near Teuge and often go out together for a drink or for something to eat after lessons. Many classes have set up their own clubs (with names such as The Cloudbreakers, Flying Dragons and Hotwing) and have created a website on which they post photos and film clips, share their flying adventures and report on their progress. The students spend a great deal of time together and regularly fly together so it’s natural for them to develop a very close bond.
