Stella aviation academy

The theoretical part comprises the following fourteen subjects:
General Navigation
• Instruments
• Flight Planning
• Meteorology
• Human Performance & Limitations
• VFR Communications
• IFR Communications
• Mass & Balance
• Radio Navigation
• Aircraft General Knowledge
• Air law
• Operational Procedures
• Principles of Flight
• Performance

The theoretical training should take about eight months to complete, provided you pass all of your examinations in the first attempt. All students must sit the national exam, and pass with a minimum score of 75%. If you have passed all your exams, you will receive the relevant certificate (theoretical course completion certificate).

Radiotelephony
Before you start the practical component of the training, you will be trained in radiotelephony (R/T) in line with the international convention on accepted phraseology (ICAO). This course will teach you how to communicate with Air traffic control.

Ground school
For every flight phase (except phase 3) you attend a ground school for the relevant phase. The ground school will introduce you to the procedures used during that certain phase which enhances a safe flight. You must pass each ground school test before flying.
