Selection rounds
Before you can train to be pilot you have to go through a rigorous selection process. The selection process determines whether you have sufficient aptitude and ability to complete the training and whether you are cut out to be a pilot. Even at this early stage the selection process determines whether you have sufficient potential to serve as a captain.
The selection procedure comprises four phases:
1a English Test
1b. Sensory motor test
2a. Capacities test
2b. Psychological test
3. Grading
4. Intake interview
The final step is the flight crew medical examination. The initial examination must take place in the country where the licence is applied for. For Turkish students this is Turkey. For more information about flight crew medical examinations in Turkey visit this site.
Students of other nationalities are all examined in the Netherlands. For information about the flight crew medical examination in the Netherlands, please visit the website of the Aeromedical Expert Centre.
You can apply for selection at any time. Simply make an appointment by completing the online application form to enter phase 1 of the selection procedure. The total fee for taking part in the four selection phases is € 150. Accommodation and travel costs are for your own account.
If you are not sure how good your eyes are, it is best to take an eye test before applying. Contact an Aeromedical Centre to make an appointment for an eye test or the flight crew medical examination.
