Fact and figures

Established in 1982 as Rob van de Sigtenhorst flying school. Stella is now one of the largest flight training schools in Europe

  • Stella flies an owned fleet (link our fleet) of 38 aircraft and has 12 leased aircraft
  • All our aircraft are managed by our own in house JAR 145 maintenance department
  • Stella aviation academy has 3 FNPT simulators
  • The Stella aviation Group has over 100 employees
  • Stella aviation academy has over 50 instructors
  • Stella aviation academy has bases (link bases) in the Netherlands: Teuge, Groningen, Maastricht, Turkey: Dalaman, Istanbul and the USA: New Smyrna Beach in Florida.
  • The school has a technical capacity of 200 students per annum but due to the current economy Stella has scaled back the production to 120 students per annum
  • Stella has no exclusive contracts with any airlines but most of our 2008 and 2009 students were placed. In the first half of 2010 Stella was able to place a majority of their students or they where hired by among others SunExpress, Freebird, Pegasus and Easyjet.
  • In September 2010 Stella has started a Pilot Provisioning program for airlines to further increase the opportunities of Stella graduates.
  • In October 2010 Stella has started a joint venture with the Gözen Group in Turkey: Stella International/Turkey.
