“Landing op airstrips that almost no one knows.”

“Why did I want to become a pilot? That’s easy. It was the world I was born into. My grandparents lived in Hoofddorp and my father worked for the Schiphol Fire Department, so I was often there as a child. And when you see those huge airliners flying, sooner or later you decide that you want to fly.”

“My parents were delighted that I wanted to be a pilot. My father would be happy to travel on an aircraft with me at the helm. I think my mother would be too scared… Fortunately my friends have also shown a great deal of interest, mainly I think because the idea of being a pilot really appeals to the imagination.

To start with I want to fly commercial scheduled and charter flights in order to gain experience and also to travel the world. Ultimately I’d like to serve as a private sector pilot, transporting executives on a turboprop or a private jet. Then I’ll have to work out for myself if I can land somewhere. And land on airstrips that almost no one knows. I think it will be a tremendous challenge!”
