Higher level general secondary and pre-university education requirements

There are all kinds of higher level general secondary and pre-university education diplomas. If you have one of the following diplomas, you meet the educational requirements.

  1. Higher level general secondary education (HAVO) diploma with at least Mathematics B1 and Physics 1.
  2. Pre-university education (VWO) diploma with at least Mathematics A1/2 or Mathematics B1 and Physics 1.
  3. ‘Old style’ pre-university (VWO) education diploma with Mathematics A or B and Physics.
  4. ‘Old style’ higher level general secondary education (HAVO) diploma with Mathematics B and Physics.
  5. Dutch and English are required subjects in all cases. Higher professional education (HBO) and university degrees also qualify provided that Mathematics B1 and Physics 1 are among the subjects studied during higher level general secondary education. In the case of old style higher level general secondary and pre-university education, Mathematics B and Physics, and Mathematics A or B and Physics must be included among the range of subjects.
