DeutschClint feels like a mountain climber
Thirty-one-year-old Clint van der Burch is one of the older students at Stella aviation academy. But he has wanted to be a pilot since he was a child. When he was eight he built his own plane out of assorted materials. His mother even went to get a plank for him (for the wings), but he was unable to get his plane off the ground.
“When I was sixteen I sat the entrance exam for the Royal Military Academy of the Netherlands, but I failed the test. I was too young, too cocky and too busy being an adolescent.”
Now? I’m happiest when I’m up among the clouds. I love the freedom, and the feeling of being in control. I really enjoy working with the technology, and the feeling that you are a bird. I feel as if I’m a mountain climber who wants to get to the summit. It’s a fascination that cannot really be expressed in words.’’
