Applying
As a graduate you have the same goal as us: we both want you to start flying!
In the end it is your responsibility to apply but through your mentor and our own newly established in-house Pilot Provisioning program for airlines Stella also works on its contacts to get you in the right seat as soon as possible.
Once you have completed your training you discuss your future opportunities with your mentor and apply for a job with the airlines. Transatlantic or intercontinental? Jet or turboprop? What is available and what is feasible? Do you need additional training or help with your CV?
During your training you have a personal mentor. Besides being able to answer all of your questions, your mentor keeps track of the way your training is progressing and will discuss it with you if necessary. The mentor also teaches students how to conduct and present themselves when applying for jobs with airlines.
We create a personal profile dossier for every student who starts their training at Stella aviation academy. This dossier contains details of your progress and your behavioral characteristics. At the end of each phase of your training you have a personal or class interview with your mentor. This is a kind of performance appraisal interview. Details of the assessment are kept in your personal profile dossier, in line with the SHAPE assessment system.
So where do you want to fly?
Half way through your practical training you will sit down with your mentor to discuss your ideas on where you want to fly once you have obtained your license. Have you thought about which airline you want to work for, is that feasible, are they hiring, do they have special hiring requirements?. Or would you like to train as an instructor once you complete your training? And what about the information on your CV?
You will speak to your mentor even more as you near the end of your training.
We are there to help!
