Do you need to have the eyes of a hawk?

“It is certainly not impossible for you to be a pilot if you wear glasses.”
Checklist
You can wear glasses
No genetic eye disorders

The idea that you cannot be a pilot if you wear glasses is a myth. You can still be a pilot if you wear glasses. But there are certain limits.

It is certainly not impossible for you to be a pilot if you wear glasses. Ideally the degree of refractive error should remain between -5 and +5. You can even train to be a pilot with a refractive error of up to -8 as long as you do not have a genetic eye disorder.

And, last but not least, being colour blind makes things difficult. Depending on the degree of colour blindness, this may affect the outcome of the selection process.

If you are not sure how good your eyes are, it is best to have your eyes tested before you apply. You yourself can book an eye test at the Aeromedical Expert Centre, an independent centre for flight crew medical examinations in Schiphol Oude Meer.
